Troops gun down armed bandit after FRSC personnel die Zamfara robbery attack

The Nigeria Army authority in Abuja said a member of an armed robbery gang that were out to carry out an attack were effectively gunned dislodged as soldiers acting on prompt inofrmation killed on of their member and recovered two assault rifles.
Unfortunately, a personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corp who was caught in the armed attack of the robbers before the soldiers arrived lost his life.
Spokesman of the Nigeria Army, Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman said the robbers would have caused worse mayhem had the troops of the 223 Battalion, 1 Division Nigerian Army, not arrived the scene of the attack on time.
According to a brief statement issued by him and made availabel to BnF News Online, the incident occurred on Thursday.
He said the incident took place Tsafe town in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
"The troops on receipt of information about the presence of the armed bandits, mobilized immediately, moved to the area", said General Usman.
"They killed one of the armed bandits and recovered 2 AK-47 rifles, 6 magazines and 7 motorcycles.
"Unfortunately, a personnel of Federal Safety Corps (FRSC) was killed by the marauders before the arrival of the troops".
Until the Nigeria army launched its special operation Sharan Daji which helped to smoke out kidnappers, armed robbers and cattle rustlers in most part of the noth-west region.
