"Army has no place for analogue PR officers" - General Usman tells colleagues

Spokesman of the Nigeria army, Brigadier General Sani Usman,  on Wednesday urged his colleagues at the directorate of Army public relations to key into the modern day social media revolution which he said plays significant role in enhancing the information dissemination needs of military internal security operations.

He said the new directorate of army public relations has no space for non-digital PR personnel. 

General Kukasheka said this at the ongoing media workshop at the Army Resources Centre, Abuja

General Usman, who is Director Army Public Relations (DAPR), said  "the Army of nowadays have no place for analogue public relations officers. I therefore urge you to key into modern media in discharging your duties".

The DAPR also called on all the army PROs to always use available  technologies and apps in detecting fake pictures and stories posted on the social media before acting on them. 

He revealed that the Army is considering the idea of establishing social media directors as part of the directorate's move to improve strategic communications.
