Governor Gaidam meets President Buhari in Aso Rocks, solicits refund of 13 billion spent on security

Governor of Yobe state, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam was on Monday a guest of President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock villa, Abuja. 

The governor was at the federal seat of power to brief the number one citizen on the post Boko Haram reconstruction efforts of the state government. 

During a one on one meeting Governor Gaidam who sought the support of the president in the reconstruction and rebuilding process of Yobe state. 

He informed Buhari that about the state government's rebuilding efforts which he said has  transited from rehabilitation to resettlement and then reconstruction of parts of the state affected by Boko Haram attacks.

Spokesman of the Governor, Abdullahi Bego, said in a text message posted on his Facebook page that "he governor spoke with the president about the ongoing effort to rebuild the state as Boko Haram insurgency comes to an end. 

Bego added that "His Excellency Governor Gaidam solicited the support of the president in the reconstruction and rebuilding process, as the state government transitions from rehabilitation to resettlement and reconstruction of parts of the state affected by Boko Haram attacks.

"The governor also briefed the president about N13 billion expense incurred by the state government as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency and asked for help with repaying all or some of the money to enable the state government use it for other development purposes.
