NEMA's new Northeast coordinator dies in Maiduguri

 The new coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for Northeast zone, Alhaji Abdulsalam Muhammed is dead, a statement from the agency said. 

Late Muhammed, who was head of the north central zone was only appointed to head the northeast regional operations of NEMA some three weeks ago. 

He died suddenly of undisclosed cause. 

NEMA's Head of Media and Public Relations, Sani Datti, confirmed this in a statement issued electronically to press on Friday. His statement reads: 

"The Management of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) is saddened to announced the sudden death of its Northeast Zonal Coordinator Alhaji Abdulsalam Muhammed who died today in Maiduguri, Borno State.

"The deceased  coordinator was redeployed to Maiduguri about three weeks ago to take charge of the Northeast zonal office after having served in the North central zone, Jos Plateau State in the same capacity. 

"Director General of NEMA Engr. Mustapha Maihaja has expressed shock over the sudden death. He prayed to Allah to forgive his soul and give the family the  fortitude to bear the loss".
