Nigeria government dismisses rumour of harmful vaccination

Government of Nigeria has put a lie to the raging rumours that some unknown persons in military attires were last week visiting public schools with a sinister motive of administering harmful vaccines on school children. 

BnF News Online  recall that the rumour was first reported last week in Yobe state before it became wild in southeast states of Nigeria. 

A statement from the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) said such rumor should be disregarded as investigations have suggested the contrary. 

NPHCDA's executive director, Dr Faisal Shuaib, said agitated parents should calm down as all vaccines used in Nigeria meets universal standards as set by the World Health Organization (WHO) which is usually certified by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC). 

Dr Shuaib reiterated the importance of immunization for children which he said still remains the best form of preventing medicine againsts all kind of ailments especially child killer disease.
