Breaking: Troops rescue another abducted Chibok girl

Nigeria troops in Borno state said they have rescued one of the abducted Chibok girls still in the custody of Boko Haram insurgents. 

A statement from the Spokesman of the Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri, Colonel Onyema Nwachukwu, said the girl who was  identified as Salomi Pogu was rescued near Pulka village in Gwoza local government of Borno state.

This is the latest since the rescue of the last in January 2017. 

The rescue girl was confirmed to be the number 86th on the list of published photos of abducted Chibok girls.

Colonel Nwachukwu's statement reads: 

"Troops of Operation Lafiya Dole deployed in Pulka today rescued one of the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists earlier in 2014. 
"So far, preliminary investigations reveal that the young girl identified as Salomi Pagu is the same as the  Chibok girl published on serial 86 of the online list of abducted Chibok girls. 
"Currently the girl who was intercepted in the company of another young girl, Jamila Adams about 14 years old with a child are in the safe custody of troops and receiving medical attention.

Salomi Pogu is the 107th Chibok schoolgirl to be rescued out of the nearly 300 girls abducted by Boko Haram in April 2014.
