Boko Haram: The mosque, the faithful and the Suicide Bomber

By Blogger
Since Boko Haram's debut in our land, about a decade ago, it's attendant humanitarian crisis may have affected people in many different ways untold. Everyone has his or her share of tale to tell about death, decapitation, injury bereavement, pretimed widowhood, impoverishment, displacement and all kinds of geographical as well as psycological unsettlements.
The narratives, from every shade of inflicted casualty, may be related, but differently spiced in terms of depth of attendant agony.
But one thing that unites us all is #Fear. This fear is not even of the unknown...but a fear of one certainty...Boko Haram will attack again. It is not that kind of momentary fears that usually come when an occurrence of danger is foretold.... This fear is the one which is that has become a norm. And because it is now a norm,  people carry on with their lives and having their fears strapped on their backs like a baby that must be nortured as long as it refuses to g…

Politicians don't easily say die even when all public opinions believe they gone.
To them there is always a striking opportunity. They would wait and endure the torture but looking out for the best time to play their last card.

On How Borno Governor and APC Governorship Candidate Survived Boko Haram Ambush

By Blogger
It was the most petrifying incident that may have happened in Borno state since 2011 when Boko Haram started carrying out high profile attacks of very public officials.
And it perhaps may also be one of the most needless trips as well. But it has happened.
The convoy of Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima, and his party's flag bearer, Professor Babagana Umara, was on the way to Ngala, a border town, 140km away from Maiduguri, where they hoped to convince voters there to vote for their popular party come Saturday election.
The convoy did not leave Maiduguri early enough. When they got to Dikwa, soldiers there reportedly barred them from advancing because in their daily tradition, 6pm is a curfew time for road users. And Boko Haram attackers usually haunt the road at about that time.
But the convoy insisted on proceeding. After a heated argument, the politicians proved they know the terrain better than the soldiers and they couldn't afford to go back to Maidugur…
